Tutoring

There are many options for academic assistance at Illinois. MEP hosts Facilitated Study Groups and also work with the Office of Minority Student Affairs (OMSA). The Center for Academic Resources in Engineering (CARE) is also an excellent choice for assistance for various math, science, and engineering courses.

Undergraduate Research

Approximately half of our undergraduates are involved with some type of research through the College of Engineering. Their work is vital to the college and helps answer society's toughest questions. Programs such as Illinois Scholars Undergraduate Research Program (ISUR) especially encourage women and minorities to apply!

Study Abroad

MEP partners with the International Programs in Engineering (IPENG) office to encourage underrepresented minority students to take advantage of this eye-opening and perhaps life-changing experience. Application and details available on the IPENG scholarships webpage.

Student Organizations

The following student organizations are great resources. They provide a supportive environment, potential study partners, and peers you can easily relate to. These organizations have ties to national efforts and share the same mission as MEP.
