MEP Welcome Committee Meet & Greet

Join current engineering students for a "Meet and Greet" during your campus visit. As a newly admitted Latinx, Black, or Native American student, the MEP Student Welcoming Committee would like to connect with you to share their stories and answer any questions you have about Illinois.

HIGH SCHOOL VISITATION (HSV) WEEKEND

High School Visitation is a weekend-long campus visit program for underrepresented high school students hosted by registered student organizations: the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) and the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE).

Experience college life by eating in dining halls, attending lectures, visiting campus facilities, and interacting with current college students.  Fall HSV is open to all students interested in pursuing engineering at the Grainger College of Engineering while the Spring HSV is only for students admitted into the Grainger College of Engineering.

Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE)

A weekend for admitted Hispanic and Latinx students to spend time overnight on campus and get to learn more about SHPE, UIUC, and what being a college student is like! The weekend will include informational sessions, tours, workshops, community building activities, and meet & greets with various campus organization and staff.

National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE)

A weekend for admitted Black and African-American students to get to learn more about NSBE, U of I, and college life. The weekend will include informational sessions, tours, workshops, community building activities, and meet & greets with various campus organization and staff.

ENGINEERING OPEN HOUSE (EOH)

Engineering Open House is an annual student-led event held in the spring that features two days of exciting exhibits and captivating competitions that showcase the talent and ingenuity of engineering students at the University of Illinois. The event is open to the public at no cost.

Other UNIVERSITY VISIT OPTIONS

The University hosts multiple types of programs designed to get you acquainted with our campus. These visit days may include presentations, interactive student panels, campus tours, and residence hall tours. You may even be able to attend a lecture!
