Honors Credit Learning Agreement

An Honors Credit Learning Agreement (HCLA) represents a binding agreement between you and your instructor regarding additional work or projects that you have agreed to complete in exchange for an honors grade. An HCLA can be made for fall or spring semester UIUC courses of at least one credit hour. Pass/fail, Credit/No Credit, and Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory (S/U) courses may not be used for honors recognition. Non-engineering students should not use this form. Please contact your home college.

How:
Add an HCLA request in your semester plan in your James Scholar portal by the 30th day of classes. Fall 2024 HCLA requests are accepted until October 7, 2024, 11:59 pm CDT.
