FORM COMMUNITY WITH FELLOW FIRST-YEAR WOMEN ENGINEERING STUDENTS WHILE EXPLORING YOUR INTERESTS AND PASSIONS

All incoming first-year women engineering students for Fall 2019 are invited to apply to the WIE-IEFX (Women in Engineering – Illinois First Year Experience) Scholars program.  Together, WIE and IEFX have partnered to provide the traditional first-year experience courses to specific communities of women students interested in a year-long program relating to one of their passions.

This scholars program allows you, the student, to form community with other engineers during your first year on campus through the exploration of specific interests.  This exploratory process enhances your first-year experience by expanding your skills while also building your college resume.

For Fall 2019, four specific scholar experiences are being offered through the year-long program. More information for each scholar program can be found by clicking the links below:

APPLICATION PROCESS AND CRITERIA

For full consideration, please apply by February 7 using this link. In the application, you will have the opportunity to rank your preference of the four themed programs noted above. If you apply after the February 7 deadline, you will be considered for remaining spots in the program.

Scholars will be selected based upon academic credentials and linked interest to the selected scholar program.

Those selected for the program will be notified by April 1.

Final WIE-IEFX Scholars will be confirmed by May 15.
