ELAs lead the instruction and facilitation of ENG 100 sections. They will also be your peer advisor for the semester. ELAs are trained advance undergraduates and are active participants in the first-year experience. They serve as mentors, instructors, and peer advisors for all first-year students.
Peer Advising & Mentoring
Use your ELA as a resource after the classroom portion of ENG 100 is over. They will contact you throughout the semester updating you on events and activities in your department and the college. They will also meet with you one on one or in a small group, getting updated on progress and transition to Illinois.
Registration for ENG 100 is done during New Student Registration. Students must register for the ENG 100 sections that align with their major.
