What was your favorite class you took freshman year and why?
My favorite class I took as a freshman was definitely CS101. This class pushed me outside of my comfort zone due to not have prior experience to python before the class. I loved the challenge and getting through it!

What was your favorite class you took freshman year and why?
I really loved linear algebra, math 257. It combines programming with a math class, which I had never seen before (although it gets pretty common in later classes!), and I just enjoyed the material! It was a fun more conceptual take on math that was structured and set up well.

My favorite spot on campus is probably the arboretum. Especially when it starts getting warm again, I spend a lot of time there. It's just a perfect place to relax a bit that's perfect for picnics, hammocking, study breaks, or just a nice walk. My favorite food spot, though, is definitely chopstix - they have some of the best chinese food on campus and the best crab rangoons I've ever tasted. Definitely recommend!

I love to eat at Poke Lab and 7 Saints!

Dominick Cappetta

Junior, Physics
dcapp2@illinois.edu | LinkedIn | Section SD3

What was your favorite class you took freshman year and why?
Physics 214. It was interesting to learn how our universe works on such small levels that go far beyond the scope of what our eyes can see. It turns out our universe is not so easily understood as we once thought. Although us humans are rather large, macroscopic beings, we are made of rather rather small, microscopic things for which quantum mechanics applies. This means quantum mechanics applies to us too! We are quantum mechanics! This class has helped to bring to light my interest for this subject as well as influence what I hope to do my graduate studies in.
