WYSE LEADers

The Worldwide Youth in Science and Engineering (WYSE) LEADers program at The Grainger College of Engineering provides opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students to develop their leadership and communication skills by mentoring talented and diverse pre-college students interested in STEM. Together they explore engineering and the sciences through hands-on, minds-on activities. WYSE strives to overcome opportunity gaps by providing students from historically excluded populations with opportunities to experience success and to see themselves as future engineers, programmers, mathematicians, and scientists.

WYSE LEADers: Donating time and talent toward STEM Leadership, Education, Advocacy, and Diversity

WYSE LEADers provide authentic opportunities to think, analyze, and create like scientists and engineers. We step-out and step-up, representing the best of what the University of Illinois has to offer, supporting pre-college students in not only picturing themselves as future scientists and engineers, but in giving them the tools and self-confidence to pursue these majors in college.
