Fall Semester

Take a 1-credit hour course to learn about environmental sustainability! In Fall 2023, you'll also prepare for studying abroad through an introduction to Trinidad and Tobago's history, culture, people, and environment. By participating in this course you are agreeing to travel on the winter break course.

Winter Break Study Abroad

Travel to Trinidad and Tobago for 10 days of integrative experiential learning! You'll explore sustainability, work on projects with local NGOs, tour the beautiful country, and more! Learn more about the program here!

Spring Semester

Take a 1-credit hour course in which you will work as a "consulting engineer" on a project with iSEE (Institute for Sustainability, Energy, and Environment) and Facilities and Services to enact a sustainability effort on campus.

Lifetime Sustainability Mindset

As a GFX Global Sustainability Scholar, you will learn how to consider environmental sustainability in engineering design and daily life!

Program Dates & Fees

There is a program fee that includes round-trip airfare from Chicago, ground transportation, lodging, meals, international insurance, and in-country programming.  GFX Global Sustainability Scholars will receive a $1500 Grainger Engineering International Scholarship (conditional on applying).
